Birthmothers Day

Honoring Birthmothers on "Birthmothers Day"?

A mother is honored on Mother's Day.  In some churches, the minister or priest will mention all kinds of mothers - step-mothers, grandmothers and others.  Some even mention women who have had abortions and honor them as mothers.  But women who have been used - as if they were livestock - to produce babies for the wealthy and the infertile are not honored on Mother's Day.  Instead these mothers are dishonored by being "honored" as placenta-like material  ("birthmothers") on "Birthmother's Day".

Are you Pro-Life or Pro-Choice?  Either way there is a good chance that you appreciate knowing that if you wait too long to reproduce, you can just use a poor family or naive Christian mother and get her baby.  Later if you have an open adoption, you can give the child's mother a card or a few trinkets on "Birthmothers Day" and "honor" her as a "birthmother" or baby manufacturing equipment.

Feminists rail against rape and other violence against women.  Feminists decry the mistreatment of women in the workplace and the lower wages. How does rape compare to taking a mother's child?  It is very similar -  "Birthmothers Day" is the ultimate symbol of oppression of women.  It is like having a "Sex Slave Day" to honor the slavery of  black slave women who were used by their masters.

There should be no "Birthmother's Day" celebrations.  Instead, there should be a Memorial Day for moms who have been used as if they were only objects to manufacture babies. "Birthmother's Day" - what worse degradation could there be?

The status of women in a society may be partially determined by the number of women who have their babies adopted-out.
